課程概述

本核心能力課程為建立公共衛生碩士學位學程學生在公共衛生實務上獨立研究的能力,每位學生需進行一次口頭報告,主題可針對實務實習相關之文獻回顧或論文相關之計劃書,擇一進行報告即可。文獻回顧主要目的為進行文獻批判、找尋知識缺口、提出問題;論文計劃書主要目的為提出假說、設計研究方法、預期結果和挑戰。我們會邀請和口頭報告學生相近領域之老師共同參與並進行評論。
This core course aims to build up MPH students’ competency on independent research in public health practicum. Each student needs to carry out the literature review of a practicum-related topic or draft a thesis proposal. The main focus of the literature review is to critique references, identify the knowledge gap, and generate the question from practicum. The key point for the thesis proposal is to propose a hypothesis, design the approach and methods, and present anticipated results and challenges. We will invite teachers in the same domain with presenters to give comments and encourage students to join the discussion. This course will give students a diverse picture of public health practicum and encourage students to form interprofessional teams in practicum.

This course aims to
1. cultivate students’ abilities of independent research in public health practicum.

3. encourage students to form interprofessional teams in public health practicum 
課程要求
本課程為同步線上和實體的混成教學,學生在各自的口頭報告時需在實體教室進行,其餘時間可選擇同步在實體或線上。
學生若在未請假下缺席課程達四次,則此課程分數不及格。學生整學期需至少提問3次;
學生口頭報告時間為15-18分鐘,報告前需在週六前上傳報告檔案及500字的中文或英文摘要至NTU COOL當週課程內容。
主題為文獻回顧:
1. 至少回顧10篇論文,並對文獻提出批判
2. 報告時需指出知識缺口並提出實務實習想法
3. 摘要需包含背景目的,文獻回顧總結,知識缺口,及未來研究方向

主題為論文計劃書:
1. 報告時需提出研究假說, 研究設計和方法,預期結果和挑戰
2. 摘要需包含背景目的, 材料方法, 預期結果,及研究限制

This is a blending course with online and physical education. Students are required to give their presentations in the class.
Students will fail the course if they are absent from the classes >= 4 times without a leave request.
Students are required to ask at least 3 questions in the course.
Students should upload a presentation PPT or PDF file and a 500-word abstract on CEIBA on Sat. before the presentation.
Students are required to give an oral presentation (15-18 minutes) of a literature review or thesis proposal.
For literature review:
1. Each student should review >10 references on one practicum-related topic and give proper critiques.
2. The presentation should point out the current knowledge gap and synthesize the research idea in practicum.
3. The abstract should include background/aims, a summary of the literature review, knowledge gaps, and future research direction.
For thesis proposal:
1. Each student should present their study hypothesis, study design and methods, and anticipated results and challenges.
2. The abstract should include background/aim(s), materials and methods, anticipated results, and study limitation(s).
